Between delight and despair: My 20+ year career journey running the Cape Town Science Centre
Written by Julie Cleverdon
Presented by Julie Cleverdon (SPAC EduConservation)
Julie Cleverdon will be talking about her experience of running a science centre; the challenges (starting a relatively new concept in South Africa in 2000 and keeping it going…), and the great opportunities of having one central visitors’ destination (base) dedicated to the awareness and enjoyment of science. In addition, she will also outline how through her work at the centre, she saw positive steps from various projects towards making the understanding of a plethora of science-related issues accessible to all, over the past 20 years.
This colloquium will occur at the Department of Journalism, located at 26 Crozier Road, Stellenbosch Central. This hybrid discussion will be from 14:30-15:30 South African time. To attend, please RSVP here. Attendance is free and refreshments will be served.
Please note that this colloquium has been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course.
