A research paper presented by CREST Postdoctoral researcher Dr Lars Guenther was selected as one of the best papers at the 66th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association that took place from 9-13 June 2016 in Fukuoka, Japan. He also made history by presenting four papers at this prestigious meeting of communication researchers.
The theme of the conference was “communicating with power” and focused on how to communicate effectively with government agencies and corporate players as well as with civil society and grassroots organisations. The theme of the conference was interpreted at two levels: first, communicating power is about communicating—both sending and receiving—powerfully or forcefully; and secondly it includes the question of how to make research better understood by those with the power to use it for good.
