Three members of the SciCOM research team (Corlia Meyer, Lars Guenther and Marina Joubert) collaborated with three academic faculties at Stellenbosch University (Arts and Social sciences, Natural science and AgriSciences) to conduct the first “Draw-a-Scientist” research project in South Africa, designed to test first year students’ perceptions of scientists.
The project was implemented during the first week of the 2017 academic calendar, and the data was processed during the year and submitted for publication in 2017.
This research has been published in the journal Research in Science and Technological Education.
