Joy remains an understudied research area in the world of science.
Our work on communicating the science of joy is in development, and is rooted in cultural theory on affect, psychoanalysis and emotional well-being.
Within the broader framework of health and happiness, we aim to explore how science communication can play a role in the pursuit of joy, pleasure, delight, play and personal happiness.
This builds on existing collaborative cultural theory work on “joyful subjects” and “consuming happiness”.
