Honours Degree (Forthcoming)

We are pleased to announce that a new Honours programme in Science Communication is expected to be soon approved, to start in 2026.

The BA (Hons) in Media and Communication will be offered through the Department of Journalism, and give students an opportunity to choose one of two specializations: Media Studies or Science Communication. The Science Communication option will, alongside key theories and methods in media and communications, offer courses in Decolonizing Science Communication, and Creative Practice in Science Communication. If you would like to be alerted when applications for the programme open, please email us at scicomm@sun.ac.za.

Please note: This programme is not yet available but will be once DHET grants its approval.

Please contact mehita@sun.ac.za with an indication of your proposed research topic and an introduction of your academic background.
